Since WooCommerce is a part of WordPress, installing Mida on either platform follows the same steps. This guide works for both WordPress and WooCommerce websites.
Installation steps
First, go to your profile at the bottom left of your screen and select "Website".
Next, name your first website project and click on "Install Tracking Code".
Then, select "Wordpress", click on "Connect"
Now, click on "Download Plugin". Afterward, log in to your Wordpress account, navigate to "Plugins", click on "Add New", and then "Upload Plugin".
Next, Copy your project key to your Wordpress site and Save it.
Finally, click on "Verify Installation" to check if Mida is receiving data from your site.
Congrats! Your installation has been successful if you see the following message. However, if you receive an error message, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for assistance here.
WooCommerce event tracking
If WooCommerce is installed and active on your WordPress site, the Mida plugin automatically tracks the following events. You can use them as conversion goals in your A/B tests without any extra setup.
Event | When it fires |
add_to_cart | When a customer adds a product to the cart |
checkout_init | When the customer reaches the checkout page (checkout form is shown) |
new_order | When a new order is created (includes revenue, quantity, and currency) |
order_processed | When the checkout order has been processed (includes revenue, quantity, and currency) |
order_received | When the order status is set to "Processing" (includes revenue, quantity, and currency) |
order_completed | When the order status is set to "Completed" (includes revenue, quantity, and currency) |
Using WooCommerce events as goals
Revenue: Use Mida’s existing Revenue goal in your experiment. It automatically uses the order_processed event and links revenue to your A/B test report — no extra setup required.
Other funnel steps (e.g. add to cart, checkout started, order completed): In the Mida dashboard, go to your experiment and add or edit a Goal → choose Custom Event → enter one of the event names above (e.g. add_to_cart, checkout_init, order_completed). Save to see those conversions in your reports.
If WooCommerce is not installed, the plugin still works for standard WordPress pages; only the WooCommerce events listed above will not be sent.
