What do you define as "Engagement" in metrics?

Updated this week

Short answer:

“Engagement” counts clicks on key interactive elements on the page, and we collect these automatically.

What counts as engagement

A user is counted as engaged when they click on:

  • Links

  • Buttons

  • Submit buttons

  • Elements that act like buttons

  • Clickable images

Auto‑collection

You don’t need to set anything up to get this metric. It’s tracked automatically as part of the standard script.

What it does not include

Engagement does not include things like scrolling, time on page, or video plays unless you create custom events for those.
